Thornden School are seeking an outstanding individual as a Teacher of History.
Thornden’s History Department fosters a love of history by inspiring curiosity about the past and its impact on the present. Rooted in the National Curriculum for England, our recently reviewed curriculum builds the knowledge and skills students need for life and to succeed at GCSE. Through engaging studies, we develop critical thinking, analysis and a strong understanding of both their community and the wider world. Schemes of work are collaboratively planned, fully resources, and consistently delivered. The History Department fosters a collegial atmosphere and is looking for a strong team player.

About the role:
- To teach History to an outstanding standard to all Key Stage 3 and 4 year groups.
- To assist in raising and maintaining standards of student attainment and achievement in the History department.
- To promote learning and to monitor, support and be accountable for student progress in History.
- To ensure consistently high levels of professionalism are maintained.
- To promote the school’s belief in creating a safe environment for students through robust safeguarding practices and maintaining an environment where students feel confident to approach any member of staff with a concern.
