We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our successful MFL department as a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. This post would be ideal for a German speaker however, we welcome applications from all linguists. Thornden School offers an outstanding induction, training, and development opportunities through the HISP Multi Academy Trust. Salary: MPR / UPR 

Hours: Part-time (0.6 - 0.8 FTE)

Start date: 1st September 2024

Thornden is an oversubscribed school serving Chandler’s Ford and the surrounding area with just over 1470 students on roll. We have an ambitious ethos based on high expectations for all. Our students are proud of their academic and wider achievements, having a belief in their own success and ability to succeed which continues beyond our school with a high percentage of Thornden students excelling at local colleges and, at further and higher education. 

About the role:

  • To teach MFL to an outstanding standard to all Key Stage 3 and 4 year groups.
  • To assist in raising and maintaining standards of student attainment and achievement in the MFL department.
  • To promote learning and to monitor, support and be accountable for student progress in MFL.
  • To ensure consistently high levels of professionalism are maintained.
  • To promote the school’s belief in creating a safe environment for students through robust safeguarding practices and maintaining an environment where students feel confident to approach any member of staff with a concern.

About HISP Trust:
