Thornden School is part of the HISP Multi Academy Trust, which was formed in January 2020. As a MAT, we aim to ensure that our schools have strong and talented leadership and staff, who in turn will ensure that the young people who are in each of the MAT schools have access to excellent education, support and wider opportunities.

Thornden is an oversubscribed, outstanding school serving Chandler’s Ford and the surrounding area with just over 1470 students on roll. We have an ambitious ethos based on high expectations for all.

The Trustees would like to appoint an enthusiastic Site Assistant to join the current site team of 5. We also welcome applications from individuals who have relevant experience working in property or site maintenance and who are confident in working with staff at all levels. Specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries form an important part of the role. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. They will be enthusiastic about working within a school environment and supporting the needs of the school and its community facilities.

Thornden School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks. We are also committed to providing equality of opportunity at all stages of the recruitment and selection process and ensuring that candidates are treated fairly and lawfully throughout the process.
